The Five Shift Framework™

Your pathway to meaningful change

Connect more deeply with yourself. Transform the way you connect with life and others.

Lasting change isn’t simply about changing behaviours. It begins with understanding the experiences, emotions and beliefs that influence how you relate to yourself and others.

By approaching these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement, we can begin to understand what drives them, respond differently and make choices that reflect the life you want to create.

The five stages

The Five Shift Framework™ provides a supportive, structured approach to developing greater self-awareness, emotional understanding and more conscious relationships.

  1. Stage 1: Being Understood

A compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, challenges and what matters most to you.

  2. Stage 2: Understanding Yourself

Exploring the beliefs, emotional responses and relationship patterns that have developed through your life experiences.

  3. Stage 3: Awareness

Beginning to recognise triggers, automatic reactions and habitual ways of relating, creating space for new perspectives.

  4. Stage 4: Conscious Choice

Developing practical ways to respond rather than react, communicate your needs and make choices aligned with your values.

  5. Stage 5: Presence, Connection & Aliveness

Cultivating a more authentic connection with yourself and others, with greater presence, emotional intimacy and fulfilment in everyday life.

Where the framework comes from

The framework draws on my nearly 30 years of experience across holistic health (naturopathy and nutrition), counselling and psychotherapy. It integrates mind–body approaches with practical strategies tailored to each person.

It sits at the heart of both the online Relationship Reconnection Program and the Group Walk & Talk Connection Program in Sydney — two distinct pathways towards greater self-awareness, emotional freedom and meaningful connection. The programs are available online across Australia, or face to face via the Group Walk & Talk Program in Sydney.

Approaches that inform it

  • Attachment theory
  • Polyvagal theory and the nervous system
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy
  • Brainspotting
  • Somatic psychotherapy
  • Process Oriented Psychology

What could change for you?

Through greater awareness and conscious choice, you can begin to:

  • Feel more connected and less alone

Develop a stronger connection with yourself and discover ways to build genuine friendships, emotional intimacy and a sense of belonging.

  • Rediscover who you are

Reconnect with your interests and values, particularly after divorce, retirement, relationship changes or years of putting work or others first.

  • Build deeper emotional intimacy

    Without losing yourself in relationships.

  • Break free from unhelpful patterns

Understand what drives emotional eating, drinking, overworking or other habits that temporarily ease loneliness, stress or uncomfortable feelings.

  • Feel more emotionally secure

Learn to recognise emotional triggers, manage difficult feelings and respond to life’s challenges with greater awareness and choice.

  • Rediscover joy and spontaneity

Reignite what brings you enjoyment, greater presence, purpose and aliveness, and begin creating a life you genuinely look forward to.
